Let’s face it, subliminal messages are everywhere; ads, TV, music, sales pitches… The list goes on forever. The fact is you can probably find a subliminal message in anything you perform. Take this for example: you’re secretly wishing to see an old friend you haven’t seen in ages. As you wish it, your subconscious is transmitting the message.

You may be wondering how it’s possible… You’re probably not a professional hypnotist (or you wouldn’t be reading this article!), but that doesn’t mean that you can’t get the same results as a qualified hypnotist. Hypnotists communicate to the subconscious mind and you can too!

It doesn’t have to be deliberate communication, but it subliminal affirmations have a much better effect when done properly. That part of your mind does not use logic or reasoning to make choices or judge situations, it takes EVERYTHING at face value. It then tucks the information away for use at a later date.

It never sleeps or grows weary. It just receives imput, even while you are sleeping. The subconscious mind never sleeps. The concept is to give your subconscious a message directly, bypassing your conscious mind completely.

So this poses the question: are subliminal messages effective?

When carefully designed can be thoroughly effective. To add power to the message, here’s a simple tip: when composing the message/affirmation thoroughly meditate on the intent. This ups the ante considerablly!

The thought behind this is very straightforward. When you give someone your advice, they may or may not follow it. But on the flip side, when you give them the same advice several times, chances are high that even though their conscious mind may not accept it, their subconscious will set the information aside and then begin influencing the person to act.

Let’s recap, three factors will determine the effectiveness of affirmation: skill, motive, acceptance level. You already have one, if not two of these things going for you! First, acceptance… Ask yourself this question, who do you trust more than yourself? Exactly my point… The second thing iis motivation! You’re obviously motivated to improve yourself, and your intent to better your subconscious is a clear motive. The last thing, skill, comes with time and practice.
